Maria Montessori is helping others in need with Brandon Rios Days.
To assist our students in acquiring a fuller understanding of outreach to those in need, our sponsorship of Brandon Rios will continue this year through the Mississauga, Ontario, office of Roblealto Child Care Association. For seventy-six years Roblealto has been ministering to needy children in Costa Rica. At the moment there are approximately 600 children under their direct care. There are three Day Care Centres for children aged 9 months to 12 years of age. These children come from families who suffer from extreme poverty. They are cared for twelve hours a day and their basic physical and spiritual needs are met. As well as the Day Care Centres, Roblealto also operates a full time facility, which takes children who have been separated from their family environment due to the risk of abuse or neglect.
Brandon was born on January 27, 2003 and is an intelligent boy who is big for his age. Once a month we will host Brandon Rios day. On this day the children will not have to wear uniforms but we ask that each child bring a loonie toward Brandon’s support. We hope and pray that this project will help the children to develop an attitude of caring and make them aware of how blessed they are to be safe, loved and living in such a beautiful country as Canada.
